Last May, the Belgian Gaming Commission decided that loot boxes fell under the jurisdiction of its gambling law, and studios like Blizzard, Valve, and EA all pulled loot boxes from their games in those countries. Last September, the Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) put out a statement that was signed by regulators from 15 different EU countries that were concerned about the practice. Some countries in the European Union have already begun to act. Now, the government has been reopened for over a month, but after nearly a year of inquiry and unsuccessful bills, regulation talks have stalled. But just as discussions were heating up, the government shut down and the agency in charge of the investigation had to hold off as its employees were furloughed.
Lawmakers in states and at the federal level were proposing bills, seeking research, and prompting regulatory bodies to investigate the practice. Last year, discussions around regulating loot boxes seemed to be coming to a head. Game studios would be banned from selling loot boxes to minors under new bill It’s similar to the voluntary exclusion policies imposed by many casino control boards, but it’s a new phenomenon in video games. I then restarted the game thinking that it was just gliched and would correct itself upon starting back up but sadly no they were still gone. It about broke my ❤ almost 1/3 of my crates were missing 41-44 to be exact. But when the match stat screen timer went up and i went back to the main menu my loot crate balance was dropped to 100. So at this point im super excited bc now i get to cash in what should be my 141-144 loot crates. I leveled up to 100 recieved the gear unlocks and the bonus 10 loot crates(thanks for those). Before i started the last game before hitting lvl 100 i had around 131-134 loot crates in my inventory once i finished the map( derailed) i got killed, revived and a team member bagged the pred and defused his/her bomb and we successfully won the round.
So i was saving up loot crates so i could have a big cash in once i hit lvl 100.
